Nest Studios worked with Aloca at Farnborough 2012, Nest were asked again to look at the design for 2014 designing and building a new double deck structure with a large hospitality area for 60 people. It was a 270sqm stand including the first floor. It has been their largest stand that they have exhibited at Farnborough.

As one of the leading supplier of aluminium solutions to the world’s aerospace industry, Alcoa Aerospace asked Nest Studios to reflect a first class hospitality and meeting space. The company’s aerospace operations are comprised of businesses with operations around the world that generate approximately $3 billion in annual revenues and leading share positions in their chosen markets.

The brief was to literally build on what Alcoa had in 2012 increasing the available floor space and accommodate a product display and large open hospitality space by adding an upper floor.

Quality again was high on the agenda with high quality furnishing, a large bespoke lounge area on the upper floor gave Alcoa space for 36 people seated for open meeting and four large conference rooms for private meetings. The reception/information point acted as a beacon and controlled the access to the lounge and meeting spaces. The dynamic facia structure at 4m has been enhanced by new high quality 3D backlit logos.

This year we had to accommodate some product displays in a encased in glass. Lighting was key to the project so Nest used a sleek looking stretched ceiling with hidden retail light fittings to create a perfect and uniformly lit zone to the front of the stand.

Nest also assisted Alcoa with a sponsored cafe area liaising with the official suppliers on the graphic design and production.

Overall the exhibition stand raised the bar even higher for Alcoa’s presence at the Farnborough Airshow delivering a contemporary class leading hospitality and meeting space.
